Alexandra Ancel explores conceptual art at the crossroads of drawing, poetry and immersive installation. His universe, often reduced to black and white, questions the spiral as a living form in movement that causes vertigo or inspires evolution. His exhibitions plunge the visitor into sensitive and sometimes disturbing spaces where the body, fluids, time and emotional ties become matter to feel as much as to think. To support and initiate middle school students, high school students and teachers (from all disciplines) interested in her approach, Alexandra Ancel offers meetings on permanent contracts (propose the date and time of the meeting to teacher-documentalists). During this stay, our two Italian LV2 classes as well as the students from the ULIS program shared wonderful moments of total inclusion. Together, we discovered the wonders of Tuscany and we have lots of memories to tell you. Our adventure began in Lucca. We loved this fortified city, especially the memorable walk on its impressive medieval walls.Then, direction Florence, a city that looks like an open-air museum! We were blown away by the Uffizi Gallery. We loved Botticelli’s "Primavera", Caravaggio’s "Medusa", as well as the famous "Medici" palace "Palazzo Vecchio" from which we left, having become frescoes.Right next door, in Piazza della Signoria, we admired the statues of the Loggia dei Lanzi before crossing the mythical Ponte Vecchio and its goldsmith shops.We also discovered the magnificent Brancacci chapel and its colorful frescoes, the first comic strip in the Renaissance about the life of Saint Peter.  The heart of Florence impressed us, especially the whole Duomo, with its cathedral, its huge campanile and its baptistery with bronze doors.  To make our exploration even more fun, we embarked on a real treasure hunt through the historic center: we had to spot the works of Clet, a famous street art artist who transforms the city’s street signs with great humor!But the culture, it’s hard to understand! One of our best moments was the cooking workshop where we learned how to make real Italian pizza. We had a great dinner at the pizzeria and, of course, we did not miss to taste the famous homemade ice creams almost every day. The trip continued with an interactive visit to the Science Museum (the Galilee Museum), where we understood a lot of scientific theories. We also explored the grandiose Palazzo Pitti and its immense Boboli gardens. To finish on a high note in Florence, we went up to admire the exceptional panoramic view from the Bardini gardens!Finally, we finished our tour by the inescapable city of Pisa. We all managed to climb the 328 steps and thus find ourselves at the top of the famous leaning tower: the view from there was breathtaking!This trip will remain engraved in our memories. Welcomed at the UNESCO Garden and on the Terraces of Fontvieille by the Urban Development Department, the students went directly to meet beekeepers to discover the life of the hive and understand the vital importance of pollination.​The trip also addressed the realities on the ground: the impact of pesticides, the Asian hornet and climate change on the colonies. By studying these threats, the students were able to think about simple actions to protect insects at their level, such as choosing melliferous plants. Initially, the players participated in a qualification phase in the form of a large single pool. Each meeting allowed participants to score points in order to establish an overall ranking. At the end of this first stage, Marco from 4e4 clearly stood out from the rest of the competitors thanks to impressive performances. He was therefore entering the final phase with the status of major favorite.The eight best players then qualified for the quarterfinals: Marco, Tom, Augustin, Arthur, Ulysse, Quentin, Sami and Adam.After quarterfinal matches, the semi-finals were between Marco (4th) and Augustin (6th) and Arthur (4th) and Tom (6th).The first semi-final was the biggest surprise of the tournament. While Marco seemed to be heading towards an expected qualification, Augustin had an excellent match by quickly taking the lady into the game and managed to win against all expectations. In the second semi-final, Tom got the better of Arthur after a very strong hooked game.The finals therefore pitted two sixth-grade students: Augustin Decadi from 6°8 and Tom Léglise from 6°9. Both players put on a great show, showing excellent tactical skills and a remarkable sense of the game. After a match fought until the end, it was finally Tom who managed to take the advantage and to win the final victory.Tom thus wins the champion trophy, in the form of a chess rider, rewarding his exceptional journey. The other semi-finalists received a medal, while all quarter-finalists were awarded a chess page mark as a reward for their performance.Beyond the results, this tournament will remain above all as a very beautiful moment of sharing around the game of chess. He recalled how this historic rivalry, first dominated by the USSR, culminated in the feat of the American Neil Armstrong, the first man to walk on lunar soil.Looking resolutely towards the future, he then shared NASA’s grandiose ambitions today: the great return to the Moon with the Artemis program, and the historical goal of making a woman walk on it for the very first time!This particularly inspiring presentation naturally elicited a very large number of questions from our students. Finally, he had us observe and understand the plankton at the CCIII lab. In exchange, we showed him our posters of commitment to the ocean, our logos, and our research into limitless exploration.The day at IMEV on June 2nd was very rich: meetings with researchers, students who told us about their jobs, visits to laboratories to understand their research, a great treasure hunt around the float. They then wrote the scenario of a comic strip featuring a situation of harassment, the consequences of these acts, the reactions of witnesses, the intervention of adults and the solutions that would lead to a positive outcome.Thanks to BookCreator and Canva digital tools, the students created their own comic strip, from the storyboard to the cover. For the occasion, Clément Aubry, pilot of the port of Monaco, shared with pedagogy his expertise of the maritime world.The session focused on the nautical chart, an essential safety tool that allows you to prepare each trip with rigor. The students discovered the Mercator projection, which preserves navigation angles but distorts scales according to regions of the globe. Through the study of authentic Italian documents—press articles, video excerpts, audio documents—students learned how to structure and write a newspaper article. A session at the permanent contract allowed them to appropriate all the codes of the press: title, chapter, body of the text...Each student first wrote their own article individually, using the vocabulary and grammatical structures studied in class—especially the passé composé. Then the students formed groups in order to share their productions and thus build an enriched and coherent collective article. Finally, they carried out the layout work in the mock-up of the establishment’s newspaper.This year, for the first time, students have integrated artificial intelligence into their approach in a reasoned and critical way. They thought about writing precise and effective prompts to ask Copilot to merge their individual articles into a coherent level A2 text. They also used AI to generate the illustration of their news item, working on the formulation of the prompt to achieve a credible and journalistic result. From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the third edition of the Competition of eloquence in Italian was held, an appointment now awaited in the cultural life of the establishment.For this edition, the competition took on a new dimension with the participation, for the first time, of 5th grade students, who joined the candidates from 4th and 3rd grade. All took up the challenge of speaking in Italian before an attentive audience, demonstrating both courage, preparation and enthusiasm.The proposed speeches testified to a great richness of reflection. Representing countries as diverse as Qatar, the Russian Federation, Sierra Leone, Brazil, Algeria, and Norway, they spent two days debating some of today’s most pressing global issues.This annual event simulates the work of the United Nations, with students assigned to committees such as the Security Council, the Economic and Social Council, Human Rights, Environment and the World Health Organisation. This year’s central theme, reducing inequality (Sustainable Development Goal 10), challenged delegates to engage with complex topics including economic empowerment for women and minority groups, human trafficking and modern slavery, and environmental justice for vulnerable populations.From the very first session, pupils were fully immersed in the experience. Speaking in front of their peers, defending national positions and negotiating with other delegates, they quickly developed confidence, adaptability and resilience. For many, it was a steep learning curve in parliamentary procedure, but also a chance to find their voice and be heard.The opening ceremony set the tone for the conference. Guest speaker Julie Rizkallah Szmaj reminded students that while the world offers many opportunities, it is still marked by deep inequalities. She encouraged them not to be guided by “the loudest voice,” but to think critically, reflect, and take meaningful action. Her message resonated strongly as pupils stepped into debates that required both conviction and compromise.Across the two days, delegates worked intensively within their committees before coming together for the closing General Assembly. The spectacle offered by the coast—lofty mountains facing the Mediterranean—left many a student speechless.Throughout the outing, Cédric and Lorenzo were able to transform the sea into a full-scale classroom, clearly detailing coastal regulations: delimited navigation areas, mooring bans, speed rules around ports.
