A Marine Engineer in Class

As part of a year-round project on the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), students from class 6-4 welcomed Mr. Alexandre Berti, a marine engineer specializing in sustainable development, on Tuesday 3 December.

He explained his role in reducing fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions from large cargo ships, while introducing innovative technologies such as air lubrication to reduce resistance between boats and water.

Curious and engaged, the students asked many questions about his profession and the environmental challenges of maritime transport. This enriching and interactive meeting allowed them to better understand the links between technology and ecology, while raising their awareness of the issues at stake in the upcoming summit. A beautiful experience to awaken consciences and, who knows, perhaps vocations !
