Access to the new college

On Monday, September 9, the new school year 2024-25 will be marked by the commissioning of the new Collège Charles III which will host all classes in 6th, 5th, 4th and 3rd grades of public education. The entrance to the building is located on the forecourt in the extension of the Promenade Honoré II.

The forecourt of this new school infrastructure is not served by any road (unlike the old establishment) and therefore it will not be possible to stop cars in the immediate vicinity.

Therefore, priority access to the new college will be by pedestrian lanes, mainly from the Promenade Honoré II which leads directly to the entrance of the institution. The Promenade Honoré II is an axis ideally served by the bus lines of the CAM :
     • line 4 at the Honoré II stop (next to the Jardins d'Apolline)
     • Lines 1, 2, 3, 6, X1, X3 and X4 at the Place d'Armes, accessible by the escalator of Place du Canton.

These public network lines will be reinforced by “school” lines dedicated to students who will serve the same stops on morning, evening and Wednesday noon. All information (schedules, subscriptions...) are available on the CAM website.

From Fontvieille, the preferential pedestrian access will be via the Shopping Centre to reach the Promenade Honoré-II, also via the Place du Canton.

From the Jardin-Exotique district and the boulevard de Belgique, pedestrian access will be via the elevator of the Galerie des Salines and the new Wurtemberg footbridge. 

For the fans of the Monabike bike, several stations are located near the new college. The main one is located, again, on the Promenade Honoré II (20 attachments). Additional parking for other bikes and scooters is also provided at the back of the college, near the Millenium building. 

Finally, a drop-minute car will be possible within the new Parking Wurtemberg, avenue de Fontvieille, with the free one hour.
