Scientific school trip around Vesuvius

Following the study of volcanism and geological risks in class, 4th grade 8 students were able to directly apply their knowledge in the Vesuvius region.

On the program: the ascent of Vesuvius, the study of the volcanic rock crater (measurements of density, mass, volume with laboratory equipment provided), the Phlegrean fields, the analysis of water from lakes of Phlegrean fields, a visit to the Vesuvian Observatory to discover the volcano's monitoring devices.

Beyond this application of the scientific approach, the students were also able to understand these volcanoes by going back in time: Pompeii, Herculaneum, Baia, Pozzuoli.

Finally, Naples has also delighted our eyes with its ancient, cultural and architectural wonders.
