Visit to SMEaux

As part of the sixth grade science and technology course, students from 6°1 and 6°9 and their teachers went to visit Monaco's wastewater treatment plant : SMEaux. During this outing, speakers presented theoretical concepts on :

     - Obtaining drinking water in the principality ;

     - Water distribution with experiments on the concept of pressure ;

     - Treatment and discharge of wastewater.

Then, a tour of the factory punctuated by various small experimental workshops was carried out to understand the importance of each stage of the industrial process.

Thus, experiments on filtration, flocculation and decantation were carried out by the technician from the Fontvieille site.

Finally, the small group was able to enter the command center and understand the importance of IT in controlling the site: possibility of remotely controlling the instruments, viewing cameras positioned at strategic points, etc.
