A day dedicated to prevention and sport

Late in the morning on Tuesday 17 June, H.S.H. Princess Charlene was present at the Larvotto Beach for the traditional Water Safety Day, organized by the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation in partnership with the Monegasque Academy of the Sea.

Since 2014, this awareness day aims to introduce the young people of the Principality to actions that save, to water safety and to sports rescue. This year, nearly 100 students from the 6th and 5th grades of Monegasque middle schools participated in a series of practical and theoretical workshops supervised by:
- Pierre Frolla, ambassador of the Foundation and quadruple record holder in freediving,
- The teams of the Monegasque Academy of the Sea,
- The Monegasque Red Cross.

And several athlete ambassadors of the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation:
Jérôme Fernandez (handball), Kevin Crovetto (gymnastics), Julien Lalanne (coastal rescue), Antoine Zeghdar (rugby), Marine Simonis (freedive).

On the program: coastal line rescue, tube buoy rescue, Nipper Board, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and even fun games like music sticks.

This edition was also marked by the exceptional presence of a group of swimmers from New Zealand, training in Monaco before the summer competitions. They were accompanied by their coach, Graham Hill, former swimming coach of HSH Princess Charlene, for a moment of intercultural sharing around swimming and water safety.

A day rich in emotions, learning and meetings—to transmit to the younger ones good reflexes, and the values of sport and solidarity.
